"The United States will not ignore your oppression, or excuse your oppressors. When you stand for your liberty, we will stand with you."
( George W.Bush, President of USA )

To The Honorable George W. Bush
President of the United States
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave, NW
Washington, DC 20500

Dear Mr. President

I am a …………… citizen of Ethiopian origin living in …………….. I am writing to you to endorse the letter recently addressed to you from Professor Almariam, an American citizen of Ethiopian decent. In May 2005 general election Ethiopians came out in their millions to vote because they were told by the opposition leaders, defenders of civil rights and journalists currently languishing in prison that America will not ignore their aspiration for freedom and democracy should the ruling party choose to suppress it. The opposition leaders’ confidence in reassuring the public hanged on your own promise contained in these words, "the United States will not ignore your oppression, or excuse your oppressors. When you stand for your liberty, we will stand with you." What happened when the ruling party realized that the democratic will of the people has turned against it is well documented in Professor Almariam's letter. Ethiopians are still waiting for your government to take a stand against gross human right abuse and the massive suppression of civil rights. Mr. President I plead with you to read Professor Almariam’s letter and act upon it. Support HR 5680.

Sincerely,
